### 1. SHA-BA-THA (𐤔𐤁𐤕) - The Sabbath

The Highest of the High Holy Days


Lashawam-Qadash Name: Sha-Ba-ThaĀ Ā 

Meaning: Rest, Cessation from WorkĀ Ā 

Frequency: Weekly (Every 7th Day)


Timing:

- Begins: Friday at sunset

- Continues: Through Saturday sunset

- Duration: One complete day (sunset to sunset)


Scriptural Foundation:

- Genesis 2:2-3 (Creation Sabbath)

- Exodus 20:8-11 (Fourth Commandment)

- Exodus 31:12-17 (Sign of Covenant)

- Leviticus 23:3 (Appointed Time)


Ordinances:

1. Complete cessation from all work (working for others except in the case of the temple family work)

2. No buying or selling

3. No carrying burdens not your own

4. Holy convocation (assembly)

5. Remembrance of creation

6. Remembrance of deliverance from bondage

Timing: Begins evening of 14th day of 1st month

1. Selection of Lamb:

2. Slaughter & Blood Application:

Commemoration of Hasty Departure


Lashawam-Qadash Name: Khaa-Ga Ma-Taza-Wa-ThaĀ Ā 

Meaning: Assembly/Feast of Unleavened BreadĀ Ā 

Month: Formerly 1st Month (Ba-Ra-Ma-Da-Ha/Abib), now the 2nd month Zif

Days: Formerly the 15th through 21st (7 days) of the 1st month, now the 14th through the 20th of the second month


Timing: Used to follow Pa-Sa-Khaa. Now, acts as a separate High Holy Day (also called 2nd Pa-Sa-Khaa)

- Exodus 12:15-20; 13:3-10; 23:15; 34:18

- Leviticus 23:6-8

- Numbers 28:17-25

- Deuteronomy 16:3-8

1. Preparation (Before 14th):

Ā Ā Ā - Remove ALL leaven from houses

Ā Ā Ā - Cleanse vessels and utensils

Ā Ā Ā - Prepare only unleavened bread


2. During the 7 Days:

Ā Ā Ā - Eat ONLY unleavened bread (no leaven)

Ā Ā Ā - NO leaven in houses

Ā Ā Ā - NO leavened products consumed

Ā Ā Ā - Holy convocation 1st day (14th)

3. Work Restrictions:

4. Offerings:

Penalty: Any person eating leavened bread during these 7 days shall be cut off from Yasharahlah

Also Known As: SHA-BA-KA-WA-THA (Weeks)

- Secondary: Sha-Ba-Ka-Wa-Tha (Weeks)Ā Ā 

Meaning: Feast of First Harvest / Feast of Seven WeeksĀ Ā 

Timing: 50 days from the day after Sabbath during Ma-Taza-Wa-Tha


Count: 7 complete weeks (49 days) + 1 day = 50th day

2. First Fruits Offering: (First Harvest/Firstborn of livestock offered, Firstborn sons given to become priest)

Month: 7th Month (Ai-Tha-Na-Ya-Ma)Ā Ā 

Day: 10th day of 7th month


Timing: 10th day of 7th month (sunset to sunset)

- Leviticus 16:1-34 (Complete ordinance)

- Numbers 29:7-11


Ordinances:


For the High Priest (Ka-Ha-Na Ha-Ga-Da-Wa-La):


1. Preparation:

Ā Ā Ā - Bathe entire body

Ā Ā Ā - Wear only linen garments (no golden garments)

Ā Ā Ā - No eating or drinking


2. Sacrifices:

Ā Ā Ā - For himself: 1 young bull (sin offering)

Ā Ā Ā - For people: 2 male goats (one for Yahawah, one for Taza-Za-Ai-La)

Ā Ā Ā - Casting of lots determines which goat for which purpose


3. Ritual:

Ā Ā Ā - Enter Most Holy Place (Qa-Da-Sha Ha-Qa-Da-Sha-Ya-Ma)

Ā Ā Ā - Bring blood of bull

Ā Ā Ā - Sprinkle on mercy seat 7 times

Ā Ā Ā - Bring blood of goat for people

Ā Ā Ā - Sprinkle on mercy seat 7 times

Ā Ā Ā - Make atonement for sanctuary, tent, altar


4. Scapegoat (Sa-Ai-Ya-Ra Taza-Za-Ai-La):

Ā Ā Ā - Lay both hands on live goat's head

Ā Ā Ā - Confess all iniquities of Yasharahlah

Ā Ā Ā - Send goat into wilderness

Ā Ā Ā - Goat bears away all sins


For All People:


1. Afflict Your Souls:

Ā Ā Ā - Complete fast (abstaining from pleasures not food or water)

Ā Ā Ā - No work of any kind (service work)

Ā Ā Ā - Humble yourselves

Ā Ā Ā - Self-examination


2. Restrictions:

Ā Ā Ā - No servile work (working for others)

Ā Ā Ā - No eating

Ā Ā Ā - No drinking

Ā Ā Ā - Solemn assembly


3. Duration:

Ā Ā Ā - Evening of 9th day through evening of 10th day

Ā Ā Ā - Complete 24-hour period


Penalty: Any person who does not afflict their soul OR does any servile work = cut off from people, destroyed


Special Note: Every 50th year (Jubilee), the trumpet announcing liberty is blown on this day

- Secondary: Khaa-Ga Ha-Ah-Sa-Pa (Assembly of Ingathering)Ā Ā 

Meaning: Feast of Temporary Dwellings / Feast of Final HarvestĀ Ā 

Month: Formerly the 7th Month (Ai-Tha-Na-Ya-Ma), later changed to the 9th Month

Days: Formerly the 15th through 21st (7 days) + 8th day in the 7th Month, now on the 25th day of the 9th Month lasting to the 2nd day on the 10th month

1. Dwelling in Booths: (Modern times-stay indoors just like the Holy Sabbath at evening but for all 7 days)

Ā Ā Ā - Live in booths for 7 days

Ā Ā Ā - ALL native-born of Yasharahlah must dwell in booths

Ā Ā Ā - Reminder of wilderness dwelling

- Wicked Haman plotted to destroy all Yasharahlah

- Cast lots (pawara) to determine day of destruction

- Queen Esther intervened
