The 9 High Holy Days

(Holy Convocations, Sabbaths)

 

  • Holy –Meaning Untainted, Separate from evil, pure, undefiled, rare, Perfect, In the state of perfection

 

  1. The Holy Sabbath-The highest of the High Holy Days (Begins every Friday @ Sundown to Saturday Sunrise. Then begins the Holy Day from Saturday Sunrise to Saturday Sunset. -Genesis 2:2-3; 1:1-5; Exodus 35:2-3; Nehemiah 10:31; Isaiah 58:13-14; 2 Maccabees 5:25)

  2. The Passover (Yahawah’s Birthday on Abib 13th & the New Year [Abib 1] for the Congregation. Preparation from the 10th to 14th day of the month Abib/Nisan Last for 7 days. - Exodus 12:11, 21-27, 43-51; 34:25; Leviticus 23:5; Numbers 9:1-6,10,12-14; 1 Esdras 1:1)-Also known as 1st Passover

  3. The Feast of Unleavened Bread (Exodus 13:3-4; 23:15; 34:18; Deuteronomy 16:1, 16; 2 Chronicles 8:13; Numbers 28:16; 33:3; Exodus 12:18-20; 34:18-25 Leviticus 23:6-8)- Also known as 2nd Passover. Celebrated on the 15th- the 21st day of the first month of Abib/Nisan. Last for 7 days. Later changed and celebrated of the 14th day of the month of Zif during the Feast of First Fruits

  4. The Feast of First Fruits- Also known as the Feast of Weeks. The 50th day is called the Pentecost (Exodus 22:29; Deuteronomy 16:9-12, 16; 2 Chronicles 8:13; Jubilees 6:21; 13:25; 16:13; 22:1,4;

  5. A Memorial of Blowing of Trumpets- The 1st day of the seventh month, Ethanim (Leviticus 23:24)

  6. The Day of Atonement- The 10th day of the seventh month of Ethanim (Leviticus 23:27-32; 25:9)

  7. The Feast of Tabernacles- Also known as the Feast of Ingathering. The 15th day of the seventh month of Ethanim (Leviticus 23:34; Deuteronomy 16:13-17, 31:10; 2 Chronicles 8:13; 2 Maccabees 10:6-7; Nehemiah 8:14; Ezra 3:4-6, Zechariah 14:19-21; 1 Esdras 5:51; John 7:2

  8. Chanukah- Also known as The Feast of Dedication, The Dedication of the Altar/Temple/House of God/The Festival of Lights. The 25th day of the Ninth month of Casleu/Chisleu (Numbers 7:84-89; Ezra 6:16-17; Psalms 30:1; 1 Esdras 7:7; 1 Maccabees 4:56-59;  St. John 10:22-23)

  9. Purim- Also known as the Days of Lot (Great Dealings). The 14th-15th day of the twelfth month Adar (Esther 9:26, 28-29,31,32)

5. Zakarawana Tharawaiha (Trumpets) - 1st day

6. Yawama Hakapawarayama (Atonement) - 10th day

 

 

### WINTER (9th & 12th Months):

7. Khaaga Hasawakatha (Booths/Tabernacles) - 25th-2nd days (8 days)

8. Khaanakatha Hamazabakhaa (Dedication) - 25th day of 9th month (8 days)

9. Pawarayama (Lots) - 14th-15th days of 12th month (2 days)
